River does have a low grade heart murmur. He is not currently taking any
medication for the murmur. At this point it’s just something that should
be watched—a change in activity level should be followed up with a vet
visit.
Pebbles is very, very sweet. She does take a little longer to warm up to
new people. She lets her brother take the lead—if a new situation is ok
with him, she will slowly join in. She is definitely the less dominant
of the two cats.
She does like to be
pet, but will be somewhat cautious at first. Sudden movement might spook
Pebbles but a patient person will be well rewarded—as Pebble’s affection
must be won, its not handed out to anyone who asks like with her
brother.
She likes the
cardboard scratch boards. She is a good eater as well, but LOVES
treats-especially the Greenies for cats. If her food bowl is empty she
will be quick to point out the problem—following her person around the
house meowing until the situation is corrected.
The cats enjoy
playing with each other. Sometimes, though, River wants to play more
rough or more often than Pebbles in which case, Pebbles will let him
know or just walk away. There are times when River is jealous of Pebbles
getting pets and attention and in those instances he might chase her
away (typical older brother).
River is neutered, tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV and is
current on vaccines. Pebbles is spayed, tested negative for feline
leukemia and FIV and is current on her shots.
River and Pebbles previously lived in a house with 2 dogs and 2 birds
and were fine. We are not certain how they would be with young children. They are wonderful cats
who will make a great addition to the right home.
