Kromka (Polish for "slice of bread") is equal parts athlete, comedian, and cuddlebug. A former stray turned indoor adventurer, he found his way to safety during a winter ice storm. If you’re looking for a cat with a big personality, he’s your guy. He’s incredibly energetic and playful, with a love for catnip toys and feather wands. He can turn any room into his personal racetrack. His signature move? Sprinting at full speed and adorably drifting around corners like a tiny race car still learning the brakes. Things he loves: Churu bite treats & Sheba sticks (his absolute weakness), having the little spot on his forehead in between his eyes rubbed, supervising meal prep like a dedicated kitchen assistant, zooming around and being goofy. He thrives on activity and would do best in a home that can match his energy — either with other playful, outgoing cats or as a solo pet where he can soak up all the attention. While his rescue family loves him dearly, their senior cats just can’t keep up with his zest for life.Kromka is negative for feline leukemia but positive for FIV, which means that he has a weakened immune system. FIV+ cats can live long, happy lives indoors. The FIV virus is transmitted to other cats through a penetrating bite wound. Cats that are not aggressive are not at risk to contract FIV from him. He can safely live with other friendly cats, especially in a stable, low-conflict environment.Kromka is neutered, current on vaccines, and micro chipped. His estimated date of birth is January 2022.📍4Paws adopts to the DC metro area. To meet Kromka or one of our other cats, apply online at fourpaws.org. ... See MoreSee Less

🖤🖤Lexi is a delightful young adult kitty with a heart full of love and a playful, curious spirit. Though she may be a little shy when meeting new people, it doesn’t take long for her gentle, affectionate personality to shine through once she feels safe and comfortable. This charming girl has an adventurous side and absolutely adores her toys. Whether she’s chasing them across the room or pouncing with kitten-like enthusiasm, Lexi brings a fun, lively energy to her home. While Lexi isn’t always a lap cat, she loves being near her humans. She enjoys pets, companionship, and the occasional snuggle when she’s feeling especially cozy. Lexi truly thrives with companionship and would do best in a home with another friendly, cat-savvy feline. She does have one special need: Lexi requires medication twice a day. The good news is she handles it like a pro—especially when her pills are tucked into a tasty Churu treat!Born in September 2023, Lexi is spayed, up to date on her vaccinations, and microchipped. She’s ready to find a loving home where she can blossom into a devoted, playful companion and bring warmth, joy, and a touch of sweetness to everyday life. DC Metro area / https://fourpaws.org/ ... Meet Lars!Lars is an expressive, sensitive boy that gets vocal when he's hoping for some pets, which he absolutely loves! This sweet boy comes to 4Paws all the way from California. As soon as a human approaches, he greets them in hopes of cuddles! Unfortunately, his former humans had to give him up due to allergies and a move. Lars was bullied by some of the other kitties in his foster home and being the type that doesn't want any trouble, he kept to himself. He liked the friendly kitties in his foster home and has been around cat-friendly dogs before, too. He's also been around young kids and did great with them!Lars has been microchipped, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, is up-to-date on his vaccines, and is neutered. DC Metro area. Meet Pickles 🐾Pickles is a 6-year-old boy with a tender heart and a gentle soul. Due to his owner moving into assisted living and being unable to take him along, Pickles is now looking for a new place to call home—and someone special to love. This sweet boy may be a little shy at first, but don’t let that fool you. Pickles just needs a bit of time to feel safe, and once he does, his affectionate personality truly shines. After warming up, he absolutely adores head rubs, soft pets, and simply being close to his people. He also gets along well with other cats, making him a wonderful addition to a home with feline friends or as a mellow solo companion. Are you in the market for a cat that thinks he’s auditioning for a Border Collie role? Then Sunny D might be your guy. Officially classified as a cat (though the jury is still out), Sunny is a high-energy herding machine who believes every household needs more structure, and he’s just the one to enforce it.Sunny first showed up at 4Paws as a friendly stray with a few minor scrapes and missing a nail, but none of that slowed him down. His true calling quickly became clear: circling around people and loudly reminding them that they are definitely not in the right spot. His herding instincts apply equally to humans and fellow cats, who have begrudgingly accepted that their new friend is part canine.Estimated to have been born in June 2022, Sunny thrives on activity and companionship. He’ll need a home with another playful cat, or a human ready for a constant shadow. He has done well with a calm, older dog, and would likely do alright with dogs of a similar temperament.Sunny comes fully vetted: neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Sunny D is negative for feline leukemia but positive for FiV. The FiV virus is transmitted to other cats through a penetrating bite wound. Cats that are not aggressive are not at risk to contract FiV from him. He lives happily and safely with non-FIV cats and has no plans to slow down his dog cosplay career anytime soon. Stray and Feral Cats

Found a stray or feral cat in Fairfax County? Help is available through Fairfax County Animal Services (FCAS).

Stray cats (lost or abandoned):
Email: animalshelter@fairfaxcounty.gov

Feral or community cats (unowned and outdoors):
Email: communitycats@fairfaxcounty.gov

FCAS supports community cats — including feral and semi-socialized cats, outdoor-born kittens, and lost or abandoned cats. They offer:

  • Community Cat Spay/Neuter: For feral and unsocialized cats who cannot live safely indoors. Cats are humanely trapped, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and returned to their outdoor home.
  • Return to Home: Helps reunite lost or stray owned cats with their families, reducing shelter intake and keeping pets with the people who love them.
  • Intake Triage & Rehoming: Evaluates and cares for unowned kittens and adult cats, ensuring they receive appropriate placement through foster care or adoption.
  • Identification Support: Promotes microchipping and ID-tagged collars for owned and managed cats to make reunification with caregivers and families faster and easier.

If you find an injured cat, FCAS will assist if you bring it in during their operating hours.
