4Paws Rescue Team
Saving Lives, Four Paws at a Time
At 4Paws Rescue Team, we provide safe, loving foster homes for homeless cats and kittens while they await their forever families. As a volunteer-run, no-kill rescue, we depend on your financial gifts and material donations to deliver vital veterinary care, conduct adoption events, and carry out rescue operations.
96¢ of every dollar goes directly to these cats and kittens in need.
Adopt a Senior 4Paws Cat
Senior cats often slip under the radar, but they make wonderful, loyal companions, ready to share calm companionship and heartfelt purrs with someone willing to open their home and heart.
At 4Paws, senior pets bring unique benefits:
- Already trained & independent — All are litter-box ready and have settled eating habits.
- Calmer, more relaxed companions — With lower energy levels than kittens, they’re often content with cuddles, naps & gentle play.
- Predictable personality — Their temperament is established, making it easier to find a cat who fits your home and lifestyle.
- You’re making a meaningful difference — Senior cats are adopted less often and giving one a loving home means giving them their best chapter yet.
In the filter, Select Age Group, then Senior.

Adoption updates on Solara and Roux (formerly Remy) - they have both been adjusting to their new homes and fellow furry family members. Solara has made some puppy friends while Roux has bonded with the resident cat, Lola. Solara enjoys chasing anything with feathers while Roux enjoys stealing socks and carrying her toy octopus everywhere.![]()

4Paws is looking for a foster home for Junior. This sweet boy was recently surrendered to us and he needs some help losing weight. At 20.4 lbs, it's imperative to his long-term health that he shed some pounds! ![]()
Born in Nov 2021, he was found in a ditch and left for dead when he was just four months old. He was ultimately adopted into a home, but due to a change in living circumstances, the family needed to rehome him. ![]()
Junior is a fan of everyone - he does well with kids, other cats, and even dogs! He loves to be pet and sometimes when you slowly move your hand away he will gently pull it back gently to request more pets. He likes to stay close to his people and any other animals in the household; sometimes he would follow his favorite human around, too.![]()
Junior is neutered, up-to-date on his vaccinations, tested negative for FIV & FeLV, and is microchipped. Please consider opening your heart and home to this sweet orange tabby. You can apply to foster or adopt him online at https://fourpaws.org/

Meet Devon! Devon was adopted from 4 Paws as a kitten and recently surrendered by her family. They lost their job and unfortunately had to move out of the area and could not take their cats with them. Devon is good with other cats. She is a beautiful fluffy grey and white girl. Devon is 6 1/2 years old. She is currently in vet boarding and would love to escape and be part of a home again. All the moving around has been very scary for her. We would love to find a foster home for her so she does not have to be at the vet's office. She is currently on thyroid medication so a foster comfortable giving medication would be preferred. Please apply online at https://fourpaws.org/foster/ ... See MoreSee Less
Stray and Feral Cats
Found a stray or feral cat in Fairfax County? Help is available through Fairfax County Animal Services (FCAS).
Stray cats (lost or abandoned):
Email: animalshelter@fairfaxcounty.gov
Feral or community cats (unowned and outdoors):
Email: communitycats@fairfaxcounty.gov
FCAS supports community cats — including feral and semi-socialized cats, outdoor-born kittens, and lost or abandoned cats. They offer:
- Community Cat Spay/Neuter: For feral and unsocialized cats who cannot live safely indoors. Cats are humanely trapped, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and returned to their outdoor home.
- Return to Home: Helps reunite lost or stray owned cats with their families, reducing shelter intake and keeping pets with the people who love them.
- Intake Triage & Rehoming: Evaluates and cares for unowned kittens and adult cats, ensuring they receive appropriate placement through foster care or adoption.
- Identification Support: Promotes microchipping and ID-tagged collars for owned and managed cats to make reunification with caregivers and families faster and easier.
If you find an injured cat, FCAS will assist if you bring it in during their operating hours.
