Update on 100+ Cat Rescue Effort

We have some excellent updates on our urgent 100+ cat rescue effort from Southwestern VA. All but approximately 5 more cats have been placed with a rescue. There is also 1 very special kitty awaiting x-rays and possible surgery, and hopefully a suitable home that can manage her special needs! To help us continue this effort, please consider donating via PayPal or fostersing one of the Wise County cats or kittens.

A big thank you to all the rescue groups and 4Paws volunteers that reached out to foster and transport, and also to those individuals who purchased and shipped cat carriers for the transports! Currently, a majority of the cats have been rescued!

HUGE thank you to Last Chance Animal Rescue who assisted with 65% of the total cats that have now gone into rescue! Additional thanks to Humane Society of Fairfax County, Fancy Cats & Dogs Rescue Team, Animal Welfare League of Arlington , Homeless Animals Rescue Team (HART), and Pets Bring Joy Rescue for all taking cat and kittens from this home into their organizations.

Special thanks to Homeward Trails Animal Rescue for transportation assistance, and the SPCA of Winchester, Frederick, & Clarke Counties for donated cat carriers.

Lastly, none of this would have been possible without Julia Winston of the Wise County Humane Society 501c3 Non Profit who helped pull this together, regardless of holidays, weekends, and whatever else.
